Irondale gymnast shines at invitational
Irondale High School senior Jordana Brady qualified for last year’s state meet in two events and placed in one of them. This year, she would like to earn a spot in the state all-around competition.
If she continues to perform the way she did on Saturday, she should realize that goal.
Brady posted the highest all-around score at the Minnesota Girls Gymnastics Officials’ Association Meet at Roseville Area High School. Brady scored a 37.35 and helped lead the Irondale/Spring Lake Park co-op team to a second-place finish in the Division II standings.
Brady’s score not only topped the Division II field but was also higher than Division I all-around winner Jessica Strecker, a freshman with two-time defending state champion Roseville.
Last season, Brady was the top gymnast in the North Suburban Conference and qualified for state on the floor exercise and vault. At state, she finished fourth on the vault.
