Another successful year for Roseville Police Department’s Shop with a Cop program
Since the inception of the Shop with a Cop program in 2005, the Roseville Police Department has made the holidays a bit brighter for over 125 children and their respective families.
Each year, Roseville Police officers accompany approximately 15 children to the Roseville Target on County Road B. Each officer pairs up with a child and helps shop for presents for the child and their family. Afterward, the officers and their new friends return to City Hall to wrap all the presents and celebrate the evening with pizza and snacks.
“This is an extremely positive night for the officers, participants, and the volunteers,” said Community Relations Coordinator Corey Yunke. “It is another great opportunity to build positive relationships with Roseville children and their families and to bring a little extra cheer during challenging times.”
The program is entirely funded through a Heroes and Helpers grant from the Target Corporation and by cash and in-kind donations from the local community. “The program continues to grow and improve each year,” states Yunke. “We are already looking for ways to improve and expand next year’s event.”
