Take a chance with chili cook off
Do you make the world’s greatest chili?
Prove it by participating in the Commemorative Air Force Minnesota Wing chili cook-off.
The contest will be held Saturday, March 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the CAF-MN hangar, located on Airport Road at Fleming Field in South St. Paul.
Entries will be judged in five categories: TexMex, Cincinnati style, veggie, chicken/turkey, and spiciest. The top entries will receive prizes from Bonicelli Fresh Meal Delivery, Edible Twin Cities, or a gift certificate to take a ride in the CAF-MN’s Stinson L-5A Sentinel aircraft.
The contest will be judged by local food experts Laura Bonicelli from Bonicelli Fresh Meal Delivery, Angelo Gentile from Edible Twin Cities, and Susan Berkson from the Minneapolis Farmers Market.
“I’ve heard rumors that bribes will be accepted,” joked CAF-MN wing leader Amy Lauria. “But that doesn’t mean you’ll be the winner.”
Contest entry is $11 and includes lunch. Non-participants are invited to visit the CAF-MN for lunch at a cost of $5 per person.
The CAF-MN museum will be open for tours during the event at no additional charge. The museum features six restored aircraft, including the B-25J “Miss Mitchell,” and a unique collection of military vehicles. The museum also houses a collection of original World War II photographs, letters and trench art.
Tickets for the chili cook-off can be purchased by calling 651-455-6942 or logging on to http://www.eventbrite.com/e/museum-open-house-chili-contest-tickets-1023...
