New Brighton Mayor appointed to NLC Committee

Dave Jacobsen Mayor, New Brighton, has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2014 Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Policy and Advocacy Committee. This committee has the lead responsibility for developing NLC federal policy positions on issues involving air quality, water quality, energy policy, national wetlands policy, noise control and solid and hazardous waste management. The appointment was announced by NLC President Chris Coleman, mayor, St. Paul, Minn. Mayor Jacobsen said: “The City of New Brighton and surrounding communities have issues related to the responsibilities of this committee. It is important that our city and surrounding communities have a voice at the national level to address these issues. I believe my involvement with this committee will have positive results at the national level.” As a member of the committee, Dave will play a key role in shaping NLC’s policy positions and advocate on behalf of America’s cities and towns before Congress, with the Administration and at home.
