Irondale baseball wins two in a row
The Knights have been an all-or-nothing team through the first two weeks of the season. When they’ve won, they’ve won big.
Irondale’s wins have come against Columbia Heights, Fridley and Park Center and it has won those games by a combined score of 44-1. The two losses came at the hands of the top two teams in the North Suburban Conference, Benilde-St. Margaret’s and Totino-Grace.
The win over Park Center is probably the most impressive. Irondale hosted a Pirates team that came into Friday’s game undefeated at 5-0 but left with its first loss of the season. The Knights scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning and cruised to a 10-0 victory.
Irondale enters this week having won two in a row. The Knights play five times this week, including a doubleheader on Friday against St. Louis Park. One of the games is a make-up game for a contest that was rained out earlier this month. Other games on the docket this week include a make-up non-conference game against Blaine on Tuesday and a North Suburban Conference tilt at Spring Lake Park on Wednesday.
