Prank call locks down Parkway school for one hour

Parkway Montessori Middle School went into lockdown mode on Wednesday, May 14 following a suspected prank call to the St. Paul Police Department.
Police reportedly got a call reporting there was an unknown male with a weapon inside the school.
St. Paul Police spokesperson Howie Padilla said police did two searches on the premises and found there was no immediate threat. The school went out of lockdown mode about an hour later. As a result of the disruption the incident created, Parkway administrators decided to dismiss classes for the day.
Police suspect the call was a hoax.
Parkway Montessori is part of St. Paul Public Schools and is in its first academic year after opening in September 2013. It is located at 1363 Bush Ave.
