FBI investigates Inver Grove Heights bank robbery

The FBI is investigating a recent bank robbery in Inver Grove Heights, and searching for two male suspects who used a gun to demand and receive cash from a teller at Vermillion State Bank.

Two men with nylon stockings covering their faces entered the bank at 2975 80th St. E. at about 11:08 a.m. May 20, according to an FBI release. One of the robbers, brandishing a handgun, ordered all of the bank employees to get on the ground.

The suspects then coerced a teller to give them an undisclosed amount of cash, the FBI reported. The duo fled, speeding off in a red 2004 Honda Pilot. They later abandoned the vehicle along the 3200 block of 78th Street East in Inver Grove Heights.

One suspect was described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, and between 230 to 240 pounds, according to the FBI. He wore a red hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and had a nylon stocking covering his face.

The suspect with the black handgun was described as a black male, approximately 5-foot-9 to 6-feet tall, and about 170 pounds. He reportedly had a slender build, and wore a red baseball cap and a nylon stocking over his face.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery may contact the FBI at 763-569-8000, or the Inver Grove Heights Police Department at 651-450-2525. There is a reward for information leading to the identification and/or arrest of the suspects.
