Roseville massage therapist sentenced to one year
Brandon Lee Palmer
A former massage therapist was sentenced to serve one year at the Ramsey County Workhouse and 10 years’ probation last week after pleading guilty to groping several women during massages that took place between June 2011 and August 2012 at the now-closed Serene Body Therapy Health and Wellness Center, which he owned on Snelling Avenue in Roseville.
Brandon Lee Palmer, 32, of Minneapolis pleaded guilty to three counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct May 14. Just a few weeks earlier, on April 29, a jury found him guilty of fourth- and fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct in a fourth case involving another woman.
In total, 22 women came to Roseville investigators with allegations that Palmer had touched them inappropriately during massages. According to the criminal complaints, Palmer touched the women in the groin area and sometimes also forced them to touch his groin.
Palmer was charged in seven of those cases, but four were dropped per the plea agreement. However, if new victims come forward with complaints, prosecutors could pursue further charges.
Palmer will be barred from practicing massage therapy while he is on probation. He must also enter a sex-offender treatment program and will not be allowed to have unsupervised contact with minors.
If he violates the terms of probation, he could serve a 6 1/2 year stayed sentence set by Judge George Stephenson.
Stephenson ordered Palmer to turn himself in at the county correctional facility June 24.
Palmer’s fiancée is reportedly expecting a child in December, according to his attorney.
