Parkview sixth grader Nathan Behrens takes first place in essay contest

Nathan Behrens, a sixth grader at Parkview Center School in Roseville, recently took first place in the state-level 2014 Letters About Literature Essay Contest, which is co-sponsored by the Minnesota Council of Teachers of English and Common Good Books. The Letters About Literature program encourages young people to read, be inspired and write back to the author who has somehow changed their view of the world or themselves. Behrens wrote a letter to Barbara Joosee, author of ‘I Love You the Purplest.’
