Volunteers needed for Turtle Lake Elementary playground community build
Following two years of planning, raising $170,000 and a June 6 groundbreaking, “A Playground For Everyone” at Turtle Lake Elementary School is looking for volunteers with a variety of skills to help with a community build July 24-28.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and should bring gloves, safety goggles and a shovel, if possible.
“A Playground For Everyone,” is replacing a 20-year-old structure and will provide a more inclusive playground to the school, as it will cater to the needs of kids and adults with various accessibility needs.
The old playground will be demolished sometime after July 4, and the building materials will be delivered and unloaded July 17; four or five volunteers are needed for the unloading process, and someone with the knowledge of how to operate a forklift or a Bobcat utility vehicle is preferred.
