East Side Review bulletin board July 6, 2014
Rescheduled from Wednesday, June 25, the garden crawl hosted by the Payne Phalen Environmental and Livability Committee takes place Wednesday, July 9 at 6 p.m. The crawl will visit 4 gardens in the Payne Phalen area. The starting location is the Poetry Park Dragon Garden, in Phalen Regional Park. Call 651-774-5234 with any questions.
Ice cream days
Stop by and enjoy some ice cream on a warm summer night at Duluth and Case recreation center. Ice cream is $1 per person, and the event is held Mondays in July from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the following dates:
• Monday, July 7 - Rootbeer Floats
• Monday, July 14 - Chocolate Peanut Parfaits
• Monday, July 21 - Ice Cream Cones

July Fourth Frederick Douglas discussion
On Monday, July 7 from 7 to 9 p.m., the East Side Freedom Library will host a discussion of Frederick Douglass’ reknowned 1852 speech, “What Does the Fourth of July Mean to the Negro?” The East Side Freedom Library is located in the old Arlington Hills Library building at 1105 Greenbrier Street.
