Boy Scout uniform collection drive during July
Wearing a uniform is a memorable part of the Scouting experience, yet many families cannot afford to purchase one. To help meet that challenge, Pilgrim Cleaners announces their seventh annual community-wide used uniform collection campaign beginning July 1.
During the entire month of July, all 25 Pilgrim Cleaner locations will accept donated Scout uniforms, clean them and deliver them to the Northern Star Council, BSA, for distribution to Scouts in need. Special emphasis is being made to collect Cub Scout uniforms (the familiar blue shirts) as the uniform in highest demand. Boy Scout, Venturer and adult leader uniforms are also needed, as well as uniform parts such as belts, neckerchiefs and hats.
To find the closest Pilgrim Cleaners location visit http://pilgrimdrycleaners.com and stop by during regular business hours. Uniforms may also be dropped off at both the St. Paul Scout Service Center (393 Marshall Ave., 55102) and the Golden Valley Scout Service Center (5300 Glenwood Ave., 55422) between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
If you do not own a uniform but still wish to contribute, you may send monetary contributions of any amount to Northern Star Council BSA, Attn: Uniform Drive, 393 Marshall Ave., St. Paul, MN 55102. For more information, call the Northern Star Council at 763-231-7201 or visit www.ScoutingPreparedForLife.org.
