Inver Grove Heights adopts new rules for front-yard parking

The Inver Grove Heights City Council recently adopted new regulations that require residents to park all vehicles in the front yard on a hard surface.

The new rules require all vehicles and recreational vehicles, such as boats, campers or snowmobiles, to be parked on a hard surface. Parking on grass is prohibited.

Temporary parking on grass in the front yard is allowed during the winter street parking ban between Nov. 1 to March 30 each year, and for temporary periods no longer than a week.

Residents will have until Nov. 1 to pave any areas intended for parking. Those with questions may contact city planner Allan Hunting at 651-450-2554 or Nicole Cook, code compliance specialist, at 651-450-2491.
