Filing period for municipal elections begins

The filing period for municipalities without a primary election opened July 29 and will close at 5 p.m. on Aug. 12.
The general election will take place Nov. 4.
Candidates will be able to file for the following city council offices in the Roseville Review’s coverage area:

Lauderdale
Mayor, 2-year term;
Two council seats, 4-year terms.

Council seats currently held by Mayor Jeffrey Dains and council members Mary Gaasch and Roxanne Grove are set to expire at the end of the year.

Little Canada
Mayor, 2-year term;
Two council seats, 4-year terms.

Mayor Bill Blesener has announced he will not run for re-election; seats currently held by council members Shelly Boss and John Keis are set to expire at the end of the year.

The city of Roseville normally holds a primary election in August; however, this year, there were not enough candidates for each office to make a primary necessary.

Falcon Heights will hold a city council election next year.
