Little Canada motorcyclist dies in crash

Motorcyclist Yonathan Ezequiel Villa Mejicano, 23, of Little Canada, died the evening of July 19 following a collision with an SUV at Centerville and Labore roads. The driver of the SUV, a 41-year-old Maplewood man, had stopped at the intersection and was making a legal U-turn when his Blazer was struck by the motorcycle, estimated by a witness to be traveling about 40 to 50 miles per hour.

Mejicano, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Regions Hospital where he later died. Alcohol was not involved in the crash, according to the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department.
