Filing for municipal and school board elections underway

The filing period for municipalities without a primary election opened July 29, as did filing for seats on local school boards.  The filing period closes at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12. The general election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Candidates will be able to file for the following city council and school board positions in the Oakdale-Lake Elmo Review’s coverage area:

Lake Elmo
Two council seats, four-year terms
City council seats currently held by council members Mike Reeves and Wally Nelson are set to expire at the end of the year.

Oakdale
Mayor, four-year term;
Two council seats, four-year terms
Mayor Carmen Sarrack has announced he will not run for re-election; seats currently held by council members Kent Dotas and Lori Pulkrabek are scheduled to expire at the end of the year.

North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale District 622 School Board
Three board seats, four-year terms
The North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School Board has three of its seven seats set to expire at the end of 2014. Board members Mark Wheeler, Michelle Yener and Amy Coborn currently occupy those seats.  

Stillwater Area District 834 School Board
Four board seats, four-year terms
The Stillwater Area Public Schools School Board has four seats out of seven that are scheduled to expire at the end of the year. Board members Natalie Fede, Natasha Fleishman, George Hoeppner and Tom Lehmann currently hold those seats.
