Phalen Blvd. closed for two weeks
Phalen Boulevard and Pennsylvania Avenue are closed in both directions where they intersect Interstate 35E.
The closures will be made before morning rush hour Friday, Aug. 22.
The intersections will be closed for roughly two weeks.
Motorists will be directed to a detoured route along Jackson Street, University Avenue, and Olive Street.
The closures will allow crews to lower a portion of Pennsylvania Avenue and Phalen Boulevard to meet height requirements for new I-35E bridges crossing over the streets.
Once the roads re-open, they'll be down to a single lane in each direction through late 2015 as construction continues on I-35E.
The construction is part of the Minnesota Department of Transportation's Cayuga project, which entails reconstructing I-35E from University to Maryland avenues.
