Roseville Police Chief Rick Mathwig took the "Ice Bucket Challenge" the afternoon of Thursday, Aug. 21, to benefit the Officer Down Memorial Page. The day, which had been predicted to heat up to over 90 degrees, was overcast and drizzly, but Mathwig's confidence was sizzling as he challenged North St. Paul Police Chief Tom Lauth to take the challenge next.

The department's newest member, Officer Daniel Iverson, did the honors of dumping a five-gallon cooler full of icy water over Mathwig's head, adding to the #IceBucketChallenge online viral video sensation which was originally created to raise money and awareness for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease).
