With Christmas approaching quickly, the varsity basketball teams at St. Anthony Village High School may be hoping for some early presents in the form of victories. They have been hard to come by in the first few weeks of the season.
It was 13 seasons ago that the Irondale High School girls basketball team last made it to the state tournament. Since then, winning records and playoff victories have been few and far between for the Knights.
Marshawn Wilson knocks down 30
Behind the hot hand and the 30-point effort of Marshawn Wilson, the Hill-Murray Pioneers held on to gain a hard-fought, 63-60 victory over the visiting St. Paul Academy Spartans.
In the Thursday, Dec. 4 game, the Pioneers owned a 10-point - 58-48 - lead with just under three minutes left in regulation.
The schedule for the Roseville Area High School boys basketball team is loaded with plenty of tough games, even early on in the season. The Raiders have passed their early tests so far but there are still a number left to take.
