Traditional Scandinavian lutefisk and meatball dinner 1-17

First Lutheran Church’s Annual Scandinavian lutefisk and meatball dinner will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17, with seating at noon, 2, 4 and 6 p.m. Dinner will include lutefisk with melted butter and white sauce, meatballs, mashed potatoes, gravy, carrots, mashed rutabagas, herring, pickles lefse, julekake, rice pudding with raspberry sauce and rosettes.

Tickets are $18, or 50 cents per year for children up to 10 years old. Tickets can be reserved by calling 651-633-0679.

New Year’s Eve Party

Bring the whole family to Shoreview’s annual New Year’s Eve Party on Wednesday, Dec. 31, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Community Center, 4580 Victoria St. N. Join us for face painting, crafts, and carnival games. As always, adventure awaits in the Tropical Adventure Indoor Playground and Tropics Indoor Waterpark. Zoom down the water slide while enjoying a light and music show. Ring in the New Year with a spectacular balloon drop at 7:45 p.m.

Jalen Gisselquist, North St. Paul, will be a featured performer as the Rat King in Ballet Minnesota’s “The Classic Nutcracker.” The 20-year-old Gisselquist has literally made leaps and bounds during his four short years as a ballet dancer.

St. Paul Audubon Society meeting 01-08

On Thursday, Jan. 8, at 7 p.m., the St. Paul Audubon Society will host its free monthly meeting at the Fairview Community Center, 1910 W. County Road B in Roseville. Philip Jenni, the executive director of the Roseville-based Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, will present a program entitled “The Science and Compassion of Wildlife Medicine.”

The Roseville Parks and Recreation Department welcomes residents to get a sneak preview of the new park buildings at Lexington Park, Sandcastle Park and Villa Park throughout December and January. Warm up in front of the fireplace and get a look at the other exciting amenities at the parks from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the following dates:
