The North St. Paul Fire Department will host its annual booya Oct. 11 starting at 11 a.m. at Casey Lake Park, 2045 17th Ave. People can eat at the park plus bring containers to take booya home; it will be served until it’s gone.
Volunteers are invited to a work day at Southwood Nature Preserve from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 3. Families and groups are welcome and lunch will be provided. Contact Cathy at 651-779-8699 for more information.
Hill-Murray’s 90-minute adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” will showcase the talents of its young actors in the comedy, romance and tragedy of the classic story with 7 p.m. shows Oct. 2 and 3 and a 2 p.m. matinee Oct. 4.

Maplewood Nature Center is a 40-acre preserve operated by the City of Maplewood. The Visitor Center is located at 2659 East Seventh Street in Maplewood and is open Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
