Rocket into Scouting 9-18

Ignite the fun!  It's time for your son to start the adventure!   Cub Scouting is a fun, outdoor, advancement program that positively affects every area of a boy's life. To join or learn more about Scouting, come to the Rocket Into Scouting event at your local elementary school at 7pm on Sept. 18th.  Every new Scout will receive a mini model rocket kit to build and launch at an activity this fall.

Ring of Kerry 9-27

Ring of Kerry is a bursting-with-energy Irish music group that captures the hearts of listeners. All five of its engaging musicians sing and play several instruments. With sounds that range from the thunder of the Irish bodhran drum to the sparkle of the hammered dulcimer; from the lilt and rhythm of fiddle and guitar to the haunting wails of flutes and pennywhistles, the band has developed a blend that is animated, ruggedly beautiful and fun.

Mu Daiko Drumming 9-13

Mu Daiko Drumming from the Mu Performing Arts group will perform on Saturday, September 13 at 7:30pm. Mu Daiko has attracted a loyal and expanding audience with its annual concerts and has been instrumental in bringing nationally-renowned taiko artists to the Twin Cities. Mu Daiko members have performed with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Chamber Music Society of Minnesota, around the state, and across the country. Mu Daiko performs a variety of traditional and contemporary works, ranging from traditional taiko repertoire to original pieces composed by its members.

Flamenco: A Touch of Spain 9-06

Flamenco: A Touch of Spain will be kicking off the Maplewood Performing Arts Theaters Fall Cultural Series on Saturday, September 6 at 7:30pm. This dynamic group features flamenco guitar virtuoso Michael Hauser, guitarist Dan Elsen, flutist and veteran jazz artist Chuck Armstrong, and bass player Tom Dades. Flamenco dancers complement the music with fiery and beautiful movement, lightning-fast footwork and colorful turns.
