Letter: Dave Zick for “the common good”

Elect Dave Zick to the North St. Paul city council because he has proven over and over again that he has the best interests of the city at heart. I know this because I served on the city council with Dave and worked with him in many other capacities. He was the fire chief and the emergency preparedness director. He still runs the North St. Paul food shelf which helps hundreds of needy residents.

Letter: Stout: ‘real local vision’

In a letter to the editor entitled “Mailbox invaded” the writer asserted that independent expenditures could be stopped by House candidate Stacey Stout.  By law, a candidate is not allowed to have any coordination with a group who provides an independent expenditure. If Stout had any input on third party mailers she would be breaking the law, so please don’t mislead folks and blame her for groups critical of Peter Fischer’s record.

Letter: ‘Stand-out quality’

I have never written a letter to the newspaper before; I am still a little nervous to be honest. My nerves however; are superseded by my enthusiasm regarding Amy Coborn’s campaign for school board. I really want people to VOTE FOR AMY! I want to tell everyone in the district to VOTE FOR AMY! How do I capture the audience? Write a letter to the editor. Here goes…

Letter: ‘Mailbox invaded’

My mailbox has been invaded with several very disotrted and false claims from the state Republican party about Peter Fischer (DFL-District 43A). As a senior advocate at the state Legislature I can say their claims are just not true! Peter has done a terrific job in his first term in office. He became very involved right from the start in a number of issues very important to me, such as health care, environmetnal issues, saving White Bear Lake, education and other children’s issues.

Letter: Please, no iPads in District 622 schools

I have been reading about the St. Paul School District leasing iPads for all the St. Paul students, even pre-schoolers. I sincerely hope the North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School District is not even considering doing this. I urge it to spend its money on education, not electronic gadgets.
