Fire officials show that a cup of water poured on a small grease fire causes the fire to greatly intensify. The Dakota County Fire Chiefs Association unveiled its new kitchen fire prevention trailer at a demonstration May 5 outside Eagan City Hall. Car vs. building - Significant structural damage to the corner shop at Bernard and Robert streets was still obvious on April 29 after a suspected drunk driver ran into Kent Optical in West St. Paul. A man crashed his vehicle into the business late April 24, and fled from the scene, according to police. The driver was later arrested for second-degree DWI, among other charges. (Linda E. Police investigate burglaries at 2 West St. Paul businesses

The West St. Paul Police Department is investigating two recent commercial burglaries, where some cash was taken after hours.
Due to an alarm call, officers were summoned to BYO Burger, 1221 S. Robert St., at 9:35 p.m. Easter Sunday, April 20, according to Lt. Brian Sturgeon.
“The office was ransacked, and some cash was stolen,” he said.

West St. Paul man allegedly slashed girlfriend during argument

'Short manhunt' preceded arrest
A West St. Paul man allegedly slashed his girlfriend with steak knives during an argument at their apartment, and was arrested nearby hours later with blood on his face and arms, according to court documents filed April 24.
Raymond Everett Hill, 35, is facing a felony charge for second-degree assault in the attack.
