Curious about the many car options out there? Puzzled by acronyms like HEV, EREV, and PHEV? Already own a hybrid and want to learn more about it? Kris Simonson and Stew Roberts, who have 15 years’ experience building, driving, buying, and repairing a wide variety of all-electric and hybrid electric cars, will answer these questions and more. They will also discuss how the cost compares to a traditional car, whether they work well in a cold climate, and if special electrical connections are needed. And they’ll answer your questions too!
What would you say if you could grow your own crops indoors all winter? We’ve all seen the prices at the grocery store (they won’t go down) and the taste is sometimes non-existent! During this workshop you will learn how to decide what varieties to grow, how to overcome the difficulties of indoor plant growth, and when to harvest your produce so it’s full of flavor. We’ll also discuss the full growing cycle and problems that may arise during each stage.
Pavia Wind Quintet, Lindsey Thompson, oboe (UNW adjunct faculty member); along with guest artists Erica Bennett, flute, Ryan Golden, clarinet, Justin Windschitl, bassoon, and Gina Goettl, horn, is performing in Nazareth Chapel of University of Northwestern – St. Paul. This exciting young chamber music ensemble explores a variety of wind repertoire with an increasing focus on contemporary music and local composers, making music accessible to all audiences.

Get rid of all your unused electronics in an earth-friendly way! Peace Lutheran Church in Lauderdale will partner with Tech Dump, an electronics recycling nonprofit, to collect unwanted electronics (gently used, obsolete, or damaged). The event is a fundraiser to raise money for the church’s roof project.
