North team wins Robotics National Championship


North High was crowned first place and the Grand Champion in the National Robotics League Championship held in Cleveland Ohio. The 18th annual STA2RS Banquet was held May 21 at the Prom Center in Oakdale. It is the date the North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School District parades a room full of academic all-stars across the stage to celebrate what is right with public education.

Cowern earns statewide ‘character development’ award

In celebration of Character Recognition Day on May 8, Synergy & Leadership Exchange presented awards for positive character development to 17 schools and four community programs at the Character Recognition Awards Ceremony at the Minnesota State Capitol. Cowern Elementary School received a Promising Practices Award for “Promoting Peace Across the Grade Levels,” a practice where each student participates in a cross-grade level peace group, meeting on a monthly basis to focus on a specific topic and engage in activities that promote peace building and positive relationships.
